The image of the Egyptian police as reflected by citizen journalism and public attitudes towards it after the June 30 revolution

Abstract

In light of the above, the study problem is determined in the following main question: What is the impact of citizen journalism on the image formed by the Egyptian public about the police force after the 30 June 2013 revolution?
Considering citizen journalism for the respondents as a source for obtaining information about the policeman, as it came in the foreground (an important source of information with another less important source) by 42.9%, then (a source of information but it is preceded by other more important sources) in second place by 37.9%, Then (the most important and only source of information) ranked third with a rate of 9.6%, and finally (a source such as another source of information) by 9.6%. The reasons for the Egyptian public’s interest in following the news of the policeman over the citizen’s press, as it came at the forefront of these reasons (makes me part of the events and I am not separate from them) with an average of 0.66, then in second place (for information on which I speak with others) with an average of 0.57, then (because I am interested in various cases related to the policeman (ranked third with an average of 0.47.
