Abstract

The study aimed to reveal the effectiveness of a proposed training program based on artificial intelligence applications in developing digital competencies for Direction television skills among educational media students, by using the descriptive approach to prepare the cognitive and theoretical framework and determine the list of skills to be developed among students, The qualitative approach to answering qualitative questions that help understand the phenomenon from the perspective of the participants themselves, through focus group discussion sessions, and the quasi-experimental approach to reveal the effectiveness of the proposed training program. The study sample consisted of (80) male and female students in the third year of the Educational Media Department, who were divided into two groups, one experimental and one control, The two researchers also conducted focused discussion sessions with (18) students from outside the original research sample, in order to come up with qualitative results that would help in explaining the research phenomenon ,The study data were collected using the achievement test, the digital competencies performance measurement test for Direction television skills, the observation card, and focus groups.

The results of the study revealed the presence of statistically significant differences between the average scores of students in the control group and the experimental group in the post-application of the achievement test (Levels - Total Score) in favor of the experimental group, and the presence of statistically significant differences between the average scores of students in the experimental group in the pre- and post-application of the achievement test (Levels - Total Score) in favor of the post-application, and the presence of statistically significant differences between the average scores of students in the control group and the experimental group in the post-application of the observation card for the digital competence test for Direction television skills (skills - total score) in favor of the experimental group, and the presence of statistically significant differences between the average scores of students in the experimental group in the pre- and post-application of the observation card for the digital competence test for Direction television skills (skills - total score) in favor of the post-application.
