Abstract

The research problem was to identify the attitudes of Turkish media directed in the Arabic language through TRT channel regarding the different Arab political situations, in order to find out the political media orientation of Turkey towards the various Arab region issues and whether that channel is a clear and direct tool to serve the goals of the Justice and Development Party or not.
The study showed the clear trend of TRT Arabic channel in harmony with Turkey's policy towards the countries of the Arab region, and that is through what the analysis showed, whether quantitative (content analysis) or qualitative (news frameworks analysis) of news programs and newsletters. The policy of indirect hostility with some of its neighbors may be an attempt by it to cling to the remnants of what it previously announced regarding its policy of “zero problems with neighboring countries”.
That policy, which seemed expired after Turkey’s negative stances on the ground with the Arab countries, is practicing with its directed media an informational and psychological war to set itself up as a political, economic, social and humanitarian model to be emulated. The channel sometimes reflects explicit and clear positions of hostility by Turkey towards some Arab political regimes, and at other times it puts, as is said by proverbs, "poison in honey" as an attempt to send the convictions of this country to the viewer in the manner of "reading between the lines", avoiding a clash with the great powers in their news treatment out of concern for it.
