The application of e-learning programs on media courses and its relationship with learning motivation based on self-determination theory:

Abstract

The current research is concerned with studying the relationship between the application of the D2L e-learning program with the media courses and the level of learning motivation associated with the theory of self-determination, through conducting a questionnaire on a sample of 154 female students from the Media Department at Umm Al-Qura University in Makkah. The study came up with the following results:
The high percentage of female students who answered that their use of the Internet is very high, reaching 85.1% against a small percentage not exceeding 14.9%. She expressed that their use is average and no student in the sample described their poor use of the Internet.
- The percentage of those who found that using the D2L program was fairly easy increased by 44.8%, followed by the percentage of female media students who found that using it very easy by 39.6%, while the percentage of those who felt it was difficult to use it decreased, reaching 15.6% of the female students in the research sample.
- The increase in the percentage of female students with the highest motivation level to learn the subject of educational program techniques, reaching 37%, followed by the intermediate level ratio of 32.5%, then the least motivated to learn by 30.5%.
- The research data indicates that a percentage of (57.14%) of the sample students have positive trends towards using e-learning in studying the subject of educational program techniques, and this is a high percentage if compared to the percentage of those who have negative trends, as their percentage did not exceed 10.39% of the sample. When he was neutral (50 individuals), 32.47% of the sample students.
