Abstract

The current study sought to attempt to monitor and empirically measure the impact of exposure of university youth to journalistic images of Arab conflicts in the four countries (Syria, Yemen, Iraq and Libya) on their emotional responses within the framework of three intermediate variables: background knowledge, rate of exposure to different means of communication, and gender.
The results of the pilot study found that the respondents were affected by the images of conflicts that were presented to them and that negative emotional responses were prevalent after the respondents were exposed to these images (whether images with a limited emotional effect or images with a high emotional impact). Anger at what is happening to the peoples of the Arab countries that have conflicts
Finally, there was an increase in the respondents' feeling of fear and anxiety about these conflicts against their own people in the first place and the countries of the region afterwards.
