Exposure to TV talk shows and Social networking Sites and its relation to the level of political trust among the Egyptian Public.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship of exposure to traditional and modern media to the level of political confidence of the Egyptian public; The problem of the study is determined in an attempt to identify the extent of the influence of television talk shows as they represent traditional media and social media sites "Facebook and Twitter" as they represent modern media on the level of political trust of the Egyptian public, and to know which of them has the most influence on the level of political confidence.
the results showed that the television talk shows that are currently presented via television channels seek to enhance citizens' political confidence and form a virtuous circle, as Norris assumed, and not as Robinson directed, that television makes citizens more discontent, according to the media aversion theory, the current study also clarified There is no relationship between the rate of use of social media sites and political confidence. Rather, social networking sites "Facebook and Twitter" are a tool and a means for self-expression and self-expression.
It should also be noted that each of (the variable of political interest - age - education - socio-economic level) has no effect on the intensity of the relationship between the variable of the size of exposure to television talk shows and the level of political confidence, while the results also found that there are variables that have a positive impact. Average on the severity of the relationship between the volume of exposure to television talk shows and the level of political confidence, and these variables are as follows: (trustworthiness of others - internal political competence - external political competence)
