Abstract

several studies dealt with issues related to social media with a battle still raging between those who believe that these sites have become media outlets and those who see the opposite because they consider these sites lacking some elements of communication. Other studies focused on the theoretical approaches that could be applied to issues related to social media theories, taking into account the difficulties that researchers face in using a study population and identifying samples.
However, this study is a combination of the use of these social media platforms and their effects from the psychological point of view, represented by the elements of alienation. Hence, the research problem aims to study the phenomenon of alienation which has a huge impact on individuals, increasing their tension, anxiety, and frustration levels. This leads to a state of separation little by little from the surroundings.
Therefore, the research is seeking an understanding of the relationship between the use of social media sites by the public who rely on the information uploaded on it. Additionally, it identifies the political, economic, and psychological implications that lead to the occurrence of the phenomenon, especially after the remarkable increase in the use of social media nowadays.
