The role of dubbed drama in the awareness of Arab youth about the quality of their family lives

Abstract

With the spread of dubbed drama and the increasing demand for it, especially among young people, it is important to study the effect of this type of drama on youth attitudes and their family interactions. Hence, the researcher considered the importance of studying the relationship between Arab youth exposure to dubbed drama and their perception of the quality of their family life.
The study used the survey methodology on a sample of 300 university students. The results showed that MBC Masr comes at the forefront of Arab satellite channels for watching dubbed drama, with the Turkish drama topping the list of the sample preferences. Additionally, the entertainment motives were the main reasons behind watching these dubbed TV series. Moreover, the results confirmed the existence of a relationship between Arab youth viewing dubbed drama and how they perceive the quality of their family life.
