The role of Radio "Alwadi Aljadid" in developing the local community within the framework of Egypt's Vision 2030

Abstract

Radio is one of the media tools that contribute to conveying the message to large numbers of audiences. Therefore, this study aims to monitor and measure the role that the local New Valley Radio plays in the development process within the governorate, in line with Egypt's 2030 vision. This vision seeks to build a fair society characterized by equality in economic, social, and political rights and opportunities.
The study also seeks to find out the factors affecting the performance of the communicator on the radio.The researcher depended on an approach that analyzes the local media, using the information-seeking theoretical framework. Considered as one of the descriptive studies, the sample of the study varied from 200 New Valley residents and 41 employees in the New Valley Radio station. The results of the study showed that the radio programs’ main priority were issues concerning the New Valley local resident. Also, the New Valley audience confirmed that they listen to the radio to know more about the local events and issues.
