Abstract

 
Several previous studies have indicated that the most important feature of modern media is the promptness in reporting events and news. Accordingly, this challenging stage that Egypt is going through makes every Egyptian expatriate more attached to the media content to know more about current events in his\her country.
Therefore, this study is concerned with the role played by the press, in general, and citizen journalism, in particular, as a means of communication and an effective knowledge tool. It also contributes to increasing interest in studying citizen journalism due to its important role in transmitting societal issues. The problem of the study can be identified through the following main question: What is the relationship between Egyptian expatriates' exposure to citizen journalism and their knowledge level of current economic conditions?
