Abstract

The research problem is determined by analyzing the relationship between the levels of reliance of a sample of Egyptians within the Emirati society on the religious programs provided by Egyptian satellite channels and their attitudes towards them as a source of the fatwa on religious matters. Therefore, the research problem gains its importance from the state of controversy raised from the fatwas discussed in the religious programs on Egyptian satellite channels.
The study approach follows the dependency theory. Hence, the main objective of this research is to analyze the relationship between the public’s levels of reliance on religious programs and the degree of positive or negative attitude they form towards the religious fatwa discourse.

By analyzing the results of the study drawn from a sample of 200 individual viewers of the religious TV programs, the researcher was able to conclude that viewers receive the content broadcasted by these programs based on several dualities. The most notable is the "question and answer binary."
