Saudi women exposure to social media and their awareness of sustainable development plans

Abstract

The study aims to determine the reasons for Saudi women's exposure to social media and its impact on their perception of sustainable development plans that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia plans to implement in light of Vision 2030. The study used the survey method by applying it to a representative sample of the Saudi women population, which reached 200 individuals.
Main Results:
- 90% of the respondents chose “I browse it more than once during the day” when asked about the average rate of social media usage.
 - Regarding the social media networks used by the respondents, "WhatsApp" was at the forefront with 98.7%.
- There is a relationship between the intensity of exposure to sustainable development issues on social media and the sample’s attitude towards efficient media coverage of development related issues.

- There is a statistically significant relationship between the intensity of exposure to social media pages and the interest in exposure to pages that discuss sustainable development issues.
