The Saudi public's reliance on the contents of economic newspapers websites to follow international economic issues

Abstract

The study aims to identify the reasons for the Saudi public's reliance on the content of economic newspapers published in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Hence, the study can help to find indicators about the features of the distinctive economic content that could attract the public. The researcher used the survey method by applying it to a sample of 200 individuals.
The main results of the study:
- There are a variety of media outlets that the respondents follow to find out the current and potential economic impact on capital activity in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and their implications.
- There are many forms of journalistic content that the study sample are keen on following through economic news websites. Accordingly, “news pieces” gained (72%) of the sample, followed by “reports” (32%).

- There is a correlational relationship of statistical significance between the Saudi public's reliance on the content of economic newspaper websites and their perception, degree of credibility and satisfaction level of those newspapers.
