The Role of an Educational Media Specialist in Utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) Applications for Developing Media Skills in Integrated Students

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the role of educational media specialists in Utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) Applications to develop media skills among Integrated students, the challenges facing this usage, and their future vision to address these challenges. The study is classified as a descriptive study, relying on the survey method. A questionnaire was used as a tool for data collection from available sample of school journalism and broadcasting specialists working in Gharbia Governorate, totaling 257 individuals. Data was collected electronically by administering the questionnaire through a Google Drive-designed form.
The study reached several findings including: a high level of awareness among educational media specialists regarding artificial intelligence applications; that the level of AI application usage in educational media. Practicing educational media activities for inclusion students helps enhance their self-confidence and develop their communication skills with others, , followed by helping them integrate with their peers.
As for the most important areas of using artificial intelligence applications with Integrated students from the respondents’ perspective, the top area was creating journalistic text and visual storytelling (such as images and animations), followed by automatic language correction, and in third place, producing content that suits students’ needs.
The results also revealed a statistically significant positive correlation between the ease of use of AI applications in developing media skills for Integrated students and the level of respondents’ attitude toward using artificial intelligence applications in developing media skills for Integrated students.
