Abstract
Traditional (newspapers, radio, TV) and digital media (Internet, social media) are crucial In promoting health communication and delivering public health messages. This research examines their impact on raising health awareness and supporting sustainable development goals, with a focus on national and international legislation. Media and Health Communication: Traditional media disseminate health information within communities, while digital platforms enable faster and broader outreach. Accurate medical Information helps reduce health disparities and encourage healthy behaviors. Sustainable Development and Public Health: Media play a vital role In advancing sustainable development goals, particularly in reducing diseases, promoting nutrition awareness, and encouraging preventive health measures. Effective media campaigns, backed by scientific data, can drive communities toward healthier choices. Legislation and Regulation: National and International laws shape and support health communication. Key regulations include health privacy laws, rules on health advertisements, and global frameworks like the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These legal measures ensure the accuracy and reliability of health information shared with the public. Challenges and Opportunities: Despite its benefits, media-driven health communication faces challenges such as misinformation and weak regulation of digital health content. However, digital platforms also offer significant opportunities for global health education and inclusive access to information. By addressing these challenges through robust legislation and responsible media practices, traditional and digital media can enhance public health awareness and contribute to achieving sustainable development goals.
