Egyptian Public Attitudes towards the Use of Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare Services: A Field Study

This study aims to explore the attitudes of the Egyptian public toward the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare services, in light of Egypt’s national direction toward digital transformation. The research adopted a descriptive approach using a field survey method, with an online questionnaire distributed to a diverse sample of Egyptian citizens. The study sought to assess public awareness and understanding of AI applications in healthcare, the extent of acceptance, and the factors influencing these attitudes. Findings revealed a moderate level of awareness, coupled with noticeable acceptance, particularly regarding the use of AI in early diagnosis and chronic disease management. The results indicated that effective AI integration depends on various factors, including the availability of digital infrastructure, education level, and public trust in healthcare providers. The study recommends expanding public education about the benefits of AI and investing in training healthcare professionals and administrators to use these technologies efficiently. It also emphasizes the need to update health policies to align with technological advances, ensuring the safe, ethical, and human-centered application of AI in healthcare. Ultimately, the study underscores the importance of balancing innovation with empathy to enhance healthcare delivery in Egypt.
