the current research problem sought to answer the following question: What is the role of new media in promoting innovative thinking among senior students at Egyptian universities? This is a descriptive study using a sample survey method to determine the extent to which senior students at Egyptian universities use new media applications to develop their innovative thinking. It also sought to identify the extent to which senior students at Egyptian universities employ new media applications as a source of innovative ideas. The study hypothesized the existence of statistically significant differences among the respondents in their motivations for exposure to innovative ideas through new media, attributable to demographic factors. It also hypothesized the existence of a statistically significant relationship between the use of new media by senior students at Egyptian universities and their ability to produce innovative ideas. It also hypothesized the existence of a statistically significant relationship between the use of new media by senior students at Egyptian universities and their motivation to implement innovative ideas. The study was conducted on a deliberate sample of 200 final-year students at Egyptian universities who use new media, using a questionnaire. The study found that: Final-year students at Egyptian universities are heavily involved in new media; there is a relationship between the richness of new media and the degree of engagement of the sample with the content presented through these media, particularly innovative ideas; and there is a statistically significant relationship between the use of new media by final-year students at Egyptian universities and their ability to produce innovative ideas.
