Abstract

The study sought to the effect of exposing to short video clips within the framework of focusing on the cognitive representation processes contained in these videos and their role in shaping girls' knowledge as well as its reflection on their understanding and recollection of this health information, This came within the framework of a Quasi-experimental study depending on the hypotheses of Information Representation Theory. The study relied on constructing a number of scales related to the variables of the study, represented in the scale of (free and closed understanding and recalling), The study was applied to a sample of 40 female students at the Faculty of Arts, Department of Media, Damietta University, The group was based on a pre-measurement and a post-measurement, The results of the study were: The rate of girls' follow-up of health information via short video clips was "sometimes", in addition to the high rates of girls' (closed and free) understanding and recalling of health information via short video clips.
The results of the hypotheses proved the existence of statistically significant differences between the pre- and post-tests in favor of the post-test regarding the level of confidence among girls in the health information contained in short video clips, It also proved the existence of significant differences in the averages of girls' understanding and recollection of health information via short video clips (after the experiment).
