The Role of Egyptian Television Channels in Supporting Government Policies within the Framework of the New Republic
Political Polarization as a Theoretical Approach
Media plays a vital role in supporting state policies and executive institutions. Egyptian television channels, in particular, are key platforms for disseminating information, shaping public discourse, and fostering both general and specialized knowledge—especially on political developments related to the "New Republic" vision. This study investigates the role of Egyptian television in promoting government policies within the framework of the New Republic. It analyzes the extent of audience exposure to relevant content and its impact on political and social awareness. The research also explores the framing techniques used by television channels to influence political polarization and communicate the challenges associated with implementing the New Republic agenda. Moreover, it proposes strategies to enhance television content in a way that strengthens its alignment with the vision while responding to audience expectations. Findings show that New Republic-themed programming attracts a broad and stable audience, indicating strong public interest in national development. However, some viewers reported a lack of engagement, emphasizing the need to improve media presentation styles and diversify content delivery to enhance effectiveness. Regarding audience engagement, the “Decent Life” (Hayah Karima) initiative was the most followed (35%), followed by the “100 Million Healthy Lives” campaign (31.8%), reflecting high public awareness of social and health development projects. Interest in the New Administrative Capital reached 26.5%, while the Digital Transformation and Governance project garnered 24.8%, signaling growing recognition of Egypt’s digital modernization efforts.
