Media Industry Policies Transformations for A Sustainable Future: An Analysis of Industry Reports, Media Events, and Academic Trends

Abstract

Within the framework of understanding contemporary and future trajectories in global media markets and industries, this study provides a comprehensive exploration of global trends in media industries from multiple perspectives. These perspectives are shaped based on an analysis of relevant industry reports and academic literature. Consequently, this study aims to monitor the shifts in media industry policies to ensure a sustainable future by conducting a systematic review of media industry studies and a thematic analysis of a sample of reports that examine the current state and future directions of the global media industry. The study adopts theoretical frameworks such as platformization, media convergence, and institutional theory, it is methodologically aligned with analytical and foresight studies.
The findings reveal several key trends in the media industry, including the use of artificial intelligence, media convergence, changing patterns in media business models' financing, evolving audience content consumption patterns, media sustainability policies, professional and academic training for media industry leaders, and regulatory and ethical frameworks governing the media industry environment. Additionally, the study highlights the increasing opportunities and challenges led by technological advancements and innovation prospects within the industry. The results present a comprehensive vision of the current and future direction of the media industry, supported by insights from media professionals at both regional (Arab) and )Global( levels.
