The Employment of Educational Media Students at Egyptian Universities for Artificial Intelligence Applications in Content Production and Its Role in Enhancing Their Media Skills
Abstract: This study aims to identify the reality of educational media students' employment of artificial intelligence applications in producing media content, and to reveal the relationship between their employment of these applications and enhancing their media skills. The study was applied to a sample of (417) individuals from students in the (second - third - fourth) years in the educational media departments (males and females) in the faculties of specific education in Egyptian universities (Port Said - Cairo - Ain Shams - Benha - Kafr El-Sheikh - Mansoura - Menoufia - Zagazig - Minya - Tanta), where the sample was selected intentionally by selecting students who use artificial intelligence applications in their media production and projects in the department. The most important results of the study were as follows:
The use of educational media students of artificial intelligence applications in the production of media materials was (to a small degree) in first place with a percentage of 51.8%, then in second place (to a medium degree) with a percentage of 35.3%, and in third and last place (to a large degree) with a percentage of 12.9%, which indicates the students' ability to learn and deal with artificial intelligence applications. The nature of the use of educational media students of artificial intelligence techniques (mandatory by faculty members to keep pace with media technology) came in first place with a percentage of 55.4%, then in second place (on my own initiative in order to excel and develop my skills) with a percentage of 31.2%, and in third and last place (both together) with a percentage of 13.4%. Proof of the validity of the first hypothesis that there is a statistically significant direct correlation between the level of employment of educational media students at Egyptian universities of artificial intelligence applications in content production and their level of media skills.
