The use of seventh generation artificial intelligence technologies and their impact on the performance of Egyptian journalists

Abstract

The current study aimed to measure the impact of technological developments on journalistic work in light of the use of seventh-generation technologies, as well as quantitative monitoring and qualitative interpretation of the perceptions, positions and trends of journalists in Egyptian journalistic institutions regarding the role of seventh-generation artificial intelligence technologies in influencing their journalistic performance, by applying the hypotheses of the theories of technological determinism and the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology. The study relied on the survey method by applying it to a sample of journalists working in Egyptian journalistic institutions consisting of 150 individuals using the questionnaire tool. The study reached a number of results, the most important of which are:

There is a correlation between the intensity of use of seventh-generation technologies and the diversity of tools for employing seventh-generation technologies in journalistic work.
There is a correlation between the intensity of use of seventh-generation technologies and the nature of the topics in which seventh-generation technologies are employed journalistically.
There is a correlation between the intensity of use of seventh generation technologies and the acceptance of the study sample to employ seventh generation technologies in the journalistic institutions in which they work (expected benefit - ease of use - usage skills - expected risks - trust - expected costs)
There are statistically significant differences according to the demographic characteristics of the study sample regarding the features of journalistic content of seventh generation journalism.
There is a correlation between the study sample's awareness of the features of journalistic content of seventh generation journalism and its evaluation of the quality of journalistic publication in light of seventh generation technologies.
