Economic and administrative factors affecting websites’ treatment of green economy topics

Abstract

 
 
The concept of green economy is of great importance in the current times,  given the major challenges the world is currently facing, public interest in such topics is decreasing, which makes providing people with attractive, well-researched stories more and more important Facts and basic information, because the rational use of the world's resources is the biggest challenge of the 21st century.
The research problem of this study is determined by monitoring and analyzing the economic and administrative factors that influence the editorial trends of electronic press websites in order to create a journalistic product that addresses the issue of the green economy as an influential topic in a way that is consistent with the directors and editors of these websites are in line with the vision.
The study relied on systems theory and analyzed214 editorial materials in (Masrawy- Cairo24 – Mobtada-Economy Plus) websites, in addition to held a questionnaire for 30 editorial managers and officials in various medium-sized  news sites.The study revealed that the editorial directors of news sites was aware of the great influence of the topic under study, however, that wasn’t be reflected in the editorial orientations of these sites, by giving absolute priority to considerations of competition with counterparts sites and social media for attracting advertisers, without considering any balanced or professional  editorial strategies.
