Impact of the New Media on Health Practices among Youth

Abstract

In this study, the researcher sought to identify the impact of the new media on health practices in the young audience and aimed to determine the degree to which young Egyptians use the new information on health practices. The researcher surveyed a sample of 400 Egyptian youth audience, in a random cluster method, by distributing a questionnaire to them.
The research elaborated a several results, among the most important of which, firstly, Egyptian youth (sample of this study) always follow the new media. Secondly, a statistically significant correlation between following new media and health practices has been elucidated. Thirdly, there is a statistically significant correlation between the degree of youth reliance on new media and their methods of health practice.
Based on the above, the researcher recommended the need to conduct a further comparative study between the impact of traditional and new media on health practices among youth. Moreover, the activation of the ethical charters of honor in the new media has been advised to adequately raise the sound of healthy practices.
