Communicator's attitudes towards employing artificial intelligence techniques in digital news platforms "a field study"

Abstract

The current study sought to achieve a main goal, which is to monitor the trends of the communicator towards employing artificial intelligence techniques in digital news platforms, and the study was conducted in the time period from 1/1/2023 to 31/1/2023, and this study belongs to the descriptive studies, and relied on the survey methodology, and the unified theoretical study was used to accept and use technology, by applying an electronic questionnaire form to a deliberate sample of communicators (news content producers using artificial intelligence techniques) in news channel platforms And represented in the platforms (Cairo News and their number (20) - Sky News Arabia and their number (11)) and the platforms of news sites represented in (Cairo 24 and their number (25) - Sada Al-Balad news and their number (14)) and electronic newspaper platforms represented in (The Seventh Day and their number (16) - Al-Masry Al-Youm and their number (14)).
The study reached a set of results, the most important of which are:

The results of the study indicated that the platforms of news sites came at the forefront of the news platforms that the communicator believes that they employ artificial intelligence techniques in the field of news service, which came in the forefront (Cairo 24) by 25%, followed by television channel platforms, which came in the forefront (Cairo News) by 20%, while the platforms of electronic newspaper websites and topped by (The Seventh Day) ranked third with a percentage of 16%.
The results of the study showed that news platforms through social media came at the forefront of the quality of the means adopted by digital news platforms to interact and communicate with the public by 90%, while mobile news platforms ranked second by 73%.
The results of the study confirmed the interest of the communicator in topics through which artificial intelligence techniques can be employed in news work, foremost of which are technological topics with a relative weight of 13, followed by economic and political topics with a relative weight of 12.
The results of the study revealed that video came at the forefront of the forms of news service provided by artificial intelligence techniques in digital platforms by 96%, followed by texts by 60%.
The results of the study indicated that the most prominent devices used to collect news material related to artificial intelligence in digital news platforms, where the mobile phone came in first place with 50%, and Chatgpt in second place with 30%.
The results of the study showed that augmented reality technology came at the forefront of digital technologies related to artificial intelligence used in the production and collection of news in digital news platforms by 79%.
The results of the study showed that checking for false news came at the forefront of artificial intelligence technologies used in digital news platforms at 84%, followed by dealing with and analyzing big data at 70%, and automated chat in third place at 62%.
The results of the study monitored the contacts suggestions to promote the use of artificial intelligence techniques in digital news platforms, foremost of which was benefiting from the successful experiences of global digital platforms in employing artificial intelligence techniques by 96%, followed by the use of some leading models in the field of artificial intelligence inside and outside Egypt by 90%.
