Preventive Legislative and Media Confrontation of the Dangers of Climate Change and its Effects on the Entity of Nation-States and the Digital and Traditional Diaspora Gatherings

Abstract

The current study aims at identifying the effects of climate change on the entity of nation-states and the digital and traditional diaspora gatherings. The study followed the survey approach. As an instrument for data collection, the study utilised the electronic questionnaire administered to a sample of 180 experts: 60 media experts, 60 law experts, and 60 information technology and security experts. The study revealed several results including aspects to be realised and stressed for the future continuation of nation-states, the importance of starting a governmental data platform connecting services and systems together through encrypted communication, challenges facing the future expansion of digital and traditional diaspora gatherings, the unequal empowerment of social groups deprived of digital world access, principles to be included in the media strategy facing the humane rising tide towards digital and traditional diaspora gatherings, and stressing the sense of national belonging, especially among young people, the researcher developed three anticipated scenarios during , from 2023 to 2073, namely, the scenario witnessing the coexistence of both the nation-states and the digital and traditional diaspora gatherings in the face of the effects of climate change, the status quo scenario or the containment and adaptation scenario, the scenario witnessing  the continuation of nation-states and the collapse of the digital and traditional diaspora gatherings in the face of the effects of climate change, the scenario witnessing the expansion of the digital and traditional diaspora gatherings and the collapse of the nation-states in the face of the effects of climate change.
