The impact of digital content through social networks sites on educating Egyptian youth about climate change:

Abstract

Within the framework of the increasing interest in the issue of climate change, and the pursuit of solutions and proposals to confront and address it, the importance of the media and its role in providing public opinion with correct and accurate information to raise awareness of climate change emerge. on the social networking site "Face book" for the issue of climate change and its risks, and analyzing the relationship between the level of Egyptian youth's dependence on the study sample page, and the ability of the digital content provided through this page to influence them cognitively, emotionally and behaviorally, and to identify the extent of its contribution to their awareness of climate change, and the study adopted Based on the survey methodology, the two questionnaire tools were used for a sample of 420 Egyptian youth, and the content analysis of 282 publications per page, the study sample.
The study reached several results, the most important of which are:
- Covering the sessions of the COP27 climate conference and discussing the dimensions of the issue of climate change" came at the forefront of the contents dealt with on the study sample page.
- The page (the study sample) used multimedia to present the content or publication in an integrated manner; to be clearer and more comprehensive, the page relied - to a large extent - on images, as it came in first place.
- High levels of trust in the official page of the Ministry of Environment.
It became clear, through the study hypotheses, that there is a statistically significant correlation between the rate of dependence of the study sample respondents on the official page of the Egyptian Ministry of Environment to follow up on climate changes and the degree of their trust in it.
- It was proven that there is a statistically significant correlation between the rate of dependence of the study sample respondents on the official page of the Egyptian Ministry of Environment to follow up the issue of climate change and the degree of their interaction with it.
