Egyptian youth's uses of artificial intelligence applications in image processing on social networking sites, and their realizations:

Abstract

 The study aims to identify the methods of Egyptian youth using image processing applications using artificial intelligence techniques, to identify the most important social networking sites on which Egyptian youth share their modified images, and to monitor the motivations of Egyptian youth to use image processing applications with artificial intelligence techniques. The study used the questionnaire tool and it was applied On a sample of Egyptian youth consisting of 425 items, it is a comparative study between the applications Dream by WOMBO and This person does not exist. This study belongs to the field of descriptive field studies, and the theory of uses and gratifications was used to interpret the results of the study.

The results of the study showed that the use of image editing applications in general, and applications of image editing with artificial intelligence techniques in particular, are associated with the desire to perform cosmetic operations, as the results of the study showed the numerical gap between the answer yes to the desire to perform plastic surgery between females and males, as the results indicated that the females answered yes with a rate of 81.9%, while males answered yes, with a rate of 8.6%, which is a large difference that could be statistically indicative of the relationship in terms of type between females’ use of photo editing applications using artificial intelligence techniques and the desire to perform plastic surgery
The results of this study showed the ranking of the social networking sites that the respondents used and shared their modified photos. They mentioned "INSTGRAM" in the lead with a rate of (39%), while the percentage of those who mentioned "FACEBOOK" was (38.3%), followed by those who mentioned "SNAPSHAT" with a percentage of (15%), while they added "TWITTER" in the last order with a percentage. (7.7%), which indicates that the Instagram application has the largest number of young people's posts for their modified photos through it, with a slight difference from Facebook.
In terms of differences in uses between males and females, the study concluded that (87.4%) of males and (100%) of females in the study sample use photo editing applications using artificial intelligence techniques, while the percentage of those who do not use them is (5.9%). (12.6%) of males, and (0%) of females, which is a result that indicates that all the study sample of females use photo editing applications on their smartphones.
