Abstract

This study aimed to exploring to what extent Egyptian television channels use the mobile journalism in the content production and displaying, whether on their screens or on their websites and social media pages, and explore the future of using mobile journalism in these channels. our study belongs to exploratory research depending on the qualitative method. It was conducted on a sample of leaders and staff (totaling 40) in the Egyptian governmental and private television channels, based on the interview guide by conducting a set of interviews with the study sample.
The results of the study indicate that the majority of leaders and staff in the Egyptian governmental and private television channels believe that Egyptian channels weakly adopt mobile journalism in the content production and displaying compared to television channels in other countries. The Egyptian channels use mobile journalism partially not completely in the content production, as well as the use of mobile journalism is closely relating to covering emergency events, and this use increased somewhat under the procedures imposed by the Corona pandemic.
In addition, the Egyptian channels do not produce special content for mobile, as they consider the mobile as a medium only, and not a different production style that has different requirements in the content, so Egyptian channels produce television content with traditional tools and then market it on their websites.
