The role of social media in shaping the social capital of the new republic in light of the global challenges

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the role of social media in shaping the social capital of the new republic in light of the global challenges, and adopted the media survey method, and applied to a simple random sample of (400) young university students in public, private and private universities within the framework of the theory of social capital. Its most important results:

The existence of a correlation between the intensity of the use of social media and each of (its role in shaping social capital, its role in shaping youth attitudes towards the projects of the New Republic, and its role in supporting and supporting the projects of the New Republic in light of global challenges).
The “National Project for the Development of the Egyptian countryside, “A Decent Life” topped the most important projects of the new republic that university youth follow through social media, followed by the “100 Million Health Initiative to Eliminate Virus C,” then the “National Roads Project,” followed by the “Transformation Project.” digital and governance of state institutions.
The forms of interaction of university youth with the projects of the New Republic varied through social media , and came in the forefront of “follow-up and reading”, followed by “talking about it to acquaintances and friends”, then “commenting on it”, then “liking it”, and finally came “sharing the post”. .
The results revealed, as a whole, the positive attitude of university youth towards the new republic, through their awareness of the nature of the economic, security and political challenges it faces in light of the global crises, and then the failure of anti-state campaigns and plans to undermine and cast doubt on the projects of the new republic and distort it through rumors and misleading news.
