The uses of Arab youth for digital books (written and audio) and the gratifications achieved from them

Abstract

The current study aimed to identify the Arab youth’s (Egyptian and Saudi) uses of digital books (written and audio) and their gratifications. It reached 400 items, 200 from Egypt, 200 from Saudi Arabia, and the most important results were as follows:
The intensity of use of the written digital book is more than the audio book in both Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
- There are statistically significant differences between the motives of Arab youth (ritualism and utilitarianism) and the type of digital books (written and audio) used, where ritualism came in favor of written digital books and utilitarianism was in favor of audio books.
- There are statistically significant differences between the intensity of Arab youth's use of digital written and audio books and demographic variables in terms of the type of education (theoretical-practical) and it has not been proven in terms of (gender, country( .
