Abstract

The study aimed to identify the Egyptian journalists’ visions of the violations of professional and ethical journalistic practice in light of the new press and media law issued in 2018 and its updates.
The results concluded that the most important breaches of ethical practice in electronic journalistic work from the point of view of Egyptian journalists, the study sample is: “Concealment of businessmen to obtain their advertisements on the site.” A higher percentage of approval reached 83.1%.
And “disrespect for values ​​and principles in dealings between colleagues” with a higher attitude towards approval amounted to 72.2%, “bias in presenting events and facts” with a higher attitude towards approval amounting to 71.7%, and “total ignorance of ethical codes of honor” with a higher percentage of approval with a percentage of 67.5%. And “ignoring the sources of most news” with a higher trend of 61.9%, and then exceeding: “Manipulation of published images and videos to deceive the reader,” with a higher trend of approval, at 59.2%, and then exceeding: “Adopting the publisher’s vision and orientation when editing topics on the site” by The highest approval rate was 57.1%.
