Medical programs addressing issues related to the Corona pandemic on Egyptian public and private satellite channels

Abstract

Television plays an important role in defining the public’s interests, shaping its trends, and developing its awareness about an issue or problem, and the world has recently witnessed a group of health crises related to the Corona pandemic, which appeared in late 2019, whose repercussions are still hanging over the global arena, especially with the emergence of strains and new mutations are more widespread and contagious, which makes the treatment of medical programs on the Egyptian public and private satellite channels an urgent need to inform the public of all developments, methods of prevention and treatment, provide all the necessary information to the public and support the state in facing the crisis.
The problem of the study is to monitor how medical programs on the Egyptian public and private satellite channels deal with the Corona crisis, within the framework of the theory of media frameworks, and the study relies on the survey method, where the researcher conducts an analytical study on a sample of Egyptian medical programs using content analysis in order to reveal treatment and detect frameworks used to treat medical programs on Egyptian satellite channels for the Corona crisis.
