Abstract

The Egyptian youth’s dependence on the new media in building their perceptions and positions on the issue of the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, through field application by means of a survey form on a sample of 400 individuals from the Egyptian youth the field study reached a number of results, the most important of which are:
 The high rate of exposure to news content related to the study issue of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam by young males more than girls, Social networking sites came at the forefront of the means that young people rely on to follow up on the issue of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam and its developments, then news websites, then television and satellite channels, then newspapers and radio. Which can be interpreted as providing the recipient with ease of reference to any news material related to the event, and it is an accompanying feature of the Internet in general and electronic newspapers in particular, and it is one of the rich communicative features Websites accounted for 47.6% of the total media outlets As for the goals of accreditation for the Egyptian youth, the sample of the study, they depend on the new media to obtain information on the issue of the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, for goals related to understanding to a high degree, goals related to guidance to a medium degree, and goals related to entertainment to a low degree.
