The frameworks of electronic newspapers treatment of foreign crises: the Egyptian Turkish crisis as a model

Abstract

The study has aimed to investigate the frameworks of electronic newspapers’ treatment of external crises, applying to the Egyptian Turkish crisis. It has examined the used editorial materials and media frameworks, the press materials objectives, and the dealt issues. It is a descriptive study; it has used the survey method, and the content analysis tool applying to all the published material in Al-Ahram and Al-Youm7 during the period from November 2019 to January 2020. It has been based on the Media Framing Analysis Theory.
Main results:

The "press news" was the widely used journalistic art by (52.0%), then the "press report" by (32.0%).
The studied newspapers used "personal images" in the first place by (45.0%), followed by "images from the scene" by (30.0%).
The studied newspapers used "rational inducements" in the first place in dealing with the Egyptian Turkish crisis by (92.0%).
The positive active actors in the studied materials were determined in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs officials, the Egyptian and Libyan public, and the Egyptian religious institutions, while the negative active actors included the Turkish president and the terrorists.
