The public’s exposure to the Parliament’s videos on YouTube and its relationship to the formation of their political knowledge

Abstract

The study aimed to know the public's exposure to YouTube in following up on the sessions of the House of Representatives and its relationship to the formation of their political awareness. The study used the media survey method, relying on a questionnaire tool. The study was applied to a deliberate sample of 250 respondents who watched Parliament videos on YouTube. The results of the study showed the sample’s position on a group of statements that illustrate the nature of media coverage of political issues through the Parliament’s clips on YouTube. The trends ranged between (agree, agree to some extent, disagree) and positive statements have won (agree, agree to some extent). ) Where came the phrase that the parliament sessions on YouTube are my most important sources for obtaining information on political issues internally and externally, in the first order In general, it is clear from the respondents’ answers that their positive attitudes increased. The results of the study also showed the contribution of the Parliament’s videos on YouTube to increasing the information of the political sample of the respondents. . The results of the study also showed that the most preferred methods by the sample via YouTube while watching clips of the House of Representatives in obtaining information on political issues are the open posts and comments with the public in the first order
