The role of sports media in eliminating intolerance in the era of globalization

Abstract

The research aims to identify the role of sports media in overcoming sports fanaticism, and addressing the goals of the sports media in the areas of sports culture and sports behavior support in order to overcome this problem.
The study discussed also the Implementation of Globalization  in the field of sports media, which can reduce the gap between the media and the populace
To achieve this aim, the researcher use a sample of 277 Egyptian youth aged between 18-35 years old.
The results are sports programs must rely on methods of participation and interactive communication, and granting the public the right to express its opinion while opening new windows on the world so that the public can get acquainted with everything new in the sports field and the world to see what society has achieved in terms of achievements and progress in the sports field. Also, one of the most important causes of the sports fanaticism is the lack of adequate awareness among the populace, and therefore sports awareness must be spread in television programs in various sports competitions. One of the most important methods to overcoming  the sports fanaticism  is to educate players about the importance of sport, define sportsmanship, and it is necessary to focus on positive behaviors and to give ample space for them in sports programs.
The study recommended the necessity of stopping sports programs that stir the masses and cause violence in sports clubs, and following up on sports media performance, especially when sports crises occur.
