The mental image of the Jordanian House of Representatives among citizens and its implications for their participation in the electoral process

Abstract

The study sought to answer a main question: What are the features of the mental image of the Jordanian parliament among citizens, and what is its impact on their electoral decision in light of the tribal structure of Jordanian society? In order to answer this main question, a number of sub-questions were raised through a questionnaire that was distributed to a quota sample consisting of (400) individuals who were selected from the city of Irbid, which is the second largest city in the Kingdom after the capital. The questions of the study are that one third of the respondents follow what the media presents “of topics and news related to the House of Representatives sometimes,” followed by those who follow it rarely, then those who follow it often, which generally indicates that citizens follow news related to the House of Representatives to a nearer average degree,
