The Role of Foreign and Arabic Drama in Shaping the Egyptian Audience Perception of the Reality of Artificial Intelligence Applications.

Abstract

This study deals with monitoring and analyzing the role of foreign and Arab cinema
 and television dramas presented on the applications related to artificial intelligence in shaping the Egyptian public's perception of the reality of these applications, and how the presented dramatic content has an impact on the perception of actual reality, and what is the degree to which the study sample adopts this technology and how to use these applications in developing cinema and TV drama later.
By using the Cultivation Theory and the Diffusion of Innovation theory, a field study was conducted on an intentional sample of 200 items from the Egyptian audience who watched this type of drama.  In addition to that, an expert study on twenty individual specialists in the art of film and television drama was conducted.
 The study reached several results, the most important of which are the following:
-  Most experts in the study sample agreed that the use of artificial intelligence applications in measuring the reaction of the public instead of using traditional methods will help understand the audience's inclinations honestly without distorting or interfering with the results of the surveys, in addition to the possibility of achieving a balance between  the technological development brought about by the applications of artificial intelligence in society and the preservation of the mechanism of the film and television industry and not eliminating the human element. Also ,using the artificial intelligence applications in doing tasks that may pose a threat on humans especially in conditions of the spread of epidemics and diseases that pose a threat to humans, and that workers must be prepared In all sections of the drama industry to deal with this technology and be trained to use it as soon as possible.
-  The Egyptian series "The End" is one of the most popular drama presented on artificial intelligence applications watched by the audience in the study sample, as it came at the top of the drama and movies discussing this topic, followed by the movie series The Terminator, and in third place the Matrix movie series, and in the fourth place the Egyptian series "A robot in our house."
-  The high percentage of Affective need among the study sample audience in exposure to the drama presented by artificial intelligence other than Cognitive need, as the audience is exposed to this type of drama to achieve fun and entertainment in the first place.
-  About half of the field sample is aware of the reality of artificial intelligence applications similar to the content presented in foreign and Arab cinema and television dramas in an average way, while the minority is the one who understands it in a low awareness, and this result is positive if the concept of artificial intelligence is addressed in depth and clarification of how to use it positively and encourage research in its development.
-  The high rate of public adoption by the study sample of the idea of ​​using the "robot" in their actual lives after watching the drama presented about artificial intelligence, whether the adoption level is medium or high, and the minority are those who have a desire to be the last to adopt the idea and that after being exposed to pressure from the surrounding community.
