Digital transformation in university education institutions an evaluation study of opportunities and challenges “Al-Azhar University as a model”

Abstract

The current study aimed to measure and evaluate the digitization project in university education institutions by analyzing the current situation of Al-Azhar University as a global model facing great challenges, using the method of quadrant analysis (SOWT) to extract a comprehensive evaluation, more neutral and logical, in order to identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats that the digitization project faces at the institution. This study belongs to descriptive studies, using the case study approach. The researcher used more than one research tool: - (in-depth personal interviews, brainstorming sessions, a questionnaire form that was applied to the sample Available from members and administrators in the various colleges of the university using the snowball method in addition to a sample of university students). The most important results of the study were the university’s adoption of the growth and expansion strategy represented in employing sources of strength to seize the best opportunities, by activating the partnership with the Supreme Council of Universities and the Ministry of Communications, to benefit from the projects funded by the state in Establishing a Data Center (the cornerstone of the digitization process), in addition to qualifying human resources.
