Crisis management in traditional and digital media

Abstract

This study aimed at monitoring scientific studies and researches that dealt with crisis management in both traditional and digital media, and analyzing them with a second-level analysis (meta-analysis), by analyzing their objective aspects and main issues, their methodological aspects, their theoretical frameworks, and their reliance on previous studies, and the statistical tests and treatments used in them, and their characteristics. 
This study is considered a type of descriptive and explanatory research and studies, and the researcher relied on the method of analysis from the second level, due to the published Arab studies and researches concerned with crisis management, and he relied on a qualitative and critical analysis form of the second level (meta-analysis).
The population of the analytical study was represented in Arab studies and researches that dealt with crisis management, during the time period from (2000) to (2019).
Based on the above, the study concluded with a set of general results, including:
- The results of the study showed the multiplicity of researchers' views on the studies and research under study. Some of them dealt with crisis management in traditional media, some of them dealt with it in digital media, and some of them in traditional and digital media.
- The study revealed the similarity of the studies that dealt with crisis management in traditional media, which it dealt with in digital media, and which dealt with it in traditional and digital media, in that the Faculty of Media, Cairo University has obtained the largest share in terms of publishing studies and researches assigned to crisis management, then The College of Media, Al-Ahram Canadian University, then the College of Mass Communication, Al-Azhar University.
- The results of the study revealed that with regard to the type of journal, in terms of publishing studies on crisis management, it came first in the Arab Journal of Media and Communication Research, then the Egyptian Journal of Media Research, and the Egyptian Journal for Public Opinion Research.
- The results of the study indicated - with regard to the qualifications of researchers in terms of type - that the number of researchers exceeds the number of researchers in studies concerned with crisis management in traditional and digital media, while the results indicated that the number of researchers is close to the number of researchers in studies on crisis management in Traditional and digital media.
- The results of the study showed the dominance of the Egyptian nationality over the total nationalities of researchers who dealt with the issue of crisis management in traditional media, digital media, and traditional and digital media.
