The Egyptian public's use of Facebook and its relationship to the exchange of their life and social experiences

Abstract

This Study Aims to Identify the Reasons for the Egyptian’s Use of Facebook, And the Relationship of Family Communication with Face Book’s Use, And the Study Relied on the Electronic Questionnaire Tool Distributed to Individuals and Friends Who Use Facebook. The Study Sample Amounted To 245 Individuals And Females Predominated By 65.7%, While Males Reached Their Percentage. 34.3%, As It Relied On The Theory Of Uses, Gratifications, And The Family Contact Model.The Study Found The first societal experiences that the sample learned from Facebook was learning new skills in cooking and learning foods from other cultures and methods of serving food by 51.4%, followed by learning religious information by following up with clerics by 45.3%, and it was the third community experience that the Facebook audience learns from. Facebook is the art of interacting with others by following human development pages by 41.6%,more over The Relationship Of Gender To Societal Experiences Gained On Facebook, And The Different Interests Gained From Facebook Between Males And Females, Moreover, Egyptian Families Adopt  The Consensual Pattern In Family Communication That Mixes Between Conformity Orientation And Conversation Orientation However, Parents Expect Their Children To Agree With Them And Allow Them To Express Their Feelings And Opinions. However, Emotional Matters Are Still Kept Secret By Family Members. The Study Found That 63.7% Do Not Disclose Their Emotional Relationships On Facebook, Which Requires Further Qualitative Studies On The Impact Of Virtual Relationships On The Nature Of Communication Within The Egyptian Family.
