Communication Efforts of the Saudi Foreign Ministry in Managing the Communication of the Yemeni Crisis

Abstract

The research aims to uncover the role of the contact person communicating the Saudi Foreign Ministry in building the media discourse of the Yemeni crisis published on its website, using the survey method for all those who concerned in liberating discourse.
The main research problem is to determine the mechanism by which the communication discourse is prepared by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the foundations on which it is based, its most important determinants, its criteria, disclosing the most important factors affecting the determination of the quality of the communication strategy used in the discourse, and the measurement mechanisms used to monitor public reactions towards Crisis discourse, based on the stages of the discourse preparation process, which are represented in the three main processes: planning the discourse construction, the process of preparing it, and evaluating the discourse after publication.
This research aims to provide a complete perception of the important and prominent role of the state’s efforts in managing its crises through its means of communication directed at the international community, the most important roles it plays in political decision-making towards those crises, how it can build its alliances through that discourse, and highlighting the importance of the communicative role that the process of creating media content plays during crises in shaping the trends of the international community and the world public opinion towards the crises which the state is going through. Based on the results of the field study, we can acknowledge that: The process of liberating the media discourse of the Yemeni crisis is subject to specific standards, and that the Saudi Foreign Ministry is carrying out a targeted communication process that takes the nature of the strategy to successfully achieve its objectives in a manner that draws clear features of the policy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in managing its international crises.
