The role of Mobile learning among Egyptian university students during the corona virus pandemic

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the role of Mobile Learning during corona virus Pandemic, what is the educational games and applications used by students in education using mobile phone, the importance of mobile phone in education during corona virus pandemic and the impact of demographic factors on the usage of mobile phone in education, to know the pros and cons of using Mobile Phone in education, The study relied on the Survey method, and relied on the questionnaire as a tool for data collection. The study was conducted on deliberate sample of 268 students from governmental and private universities. The results showed that the mobile phone ranked first in learning by 71.6% percentage. It was found that 88.8% of colleges depend on educational platforms, 72% of Students were interested in downloading educational applications and games, the biggest problems face students is the lack of internet, the lack of direct communication. One of the positive results of using the mobile phone in learning is the saving of efforts and using modern means. One of the negative consequences is the need for financial expenses and the lack of interest in educational process. One of the most important needs that resulted from the use of mobile phone in learning is the need to buy a phone with a large storage space. It was found that there is no relationship between gender or the type of university or academic level and the gratifications achieved from using the mobile phone in learning.
