Abstract

The research aimed to monitor and analyze the role of the virtual community as one of the modern and influential means of communication in the spread of volunteering. The objectives of the research were determined in an attempt to determine the level of the dimensions of social capital in the virtual community among university youth in Upper Egypt and the dimensions of promoting a culture of volunteering , And identifying proposals to activate the contributions of the virtual community in promoting the culture of volunteering among university youth in the upper Egypt in the light of the theory of social capital , This was done through a field study on a sample of university youth in upper Egypt .
The study reached many results, the most important of which are: The level of virtual social capital dimensions and the promotion of volunteering culture among university youth in Upper Egypt is high .  There is a statistically significant direct relationship between social capital in the virtual community and the promotion of volunteering culture among university youth in Upper Egypt, and In order to activate the contributions of the virtual community in promoting the culture of volunteering, it is necessary to establish specialized websites to promote the culture of volunteering among young people ,  keenness to provide an electronic information network on the mechanisms of volunteering in society, and to employ the data of the technological revolution in providing volunteer services, Working on developing laws and legislations regulating volunteer work and This is in line with the global view of the phenomenon of electronic volunteering, which has become closely linked to the dimensions of virtual social capital and its role in increasing the demand of university youth to participate in volunteer work.
